Keep Rev Alvin Traylor and the Family in your prayers while he mourn the loss of two distant cousins over the last week, Mr. Bobby Joe Crowder and Mrs. Trina Ann Grant who passed on yesterday. Mr Bobby Joe Crowder was buried on last weekend and Mrs. Trina Ann Grant services are pending. Both lived in Mt Pleasant,Tx.
May God strengthen the family in their hour of need.

Juneteenth Day
Wednesday, June 19, 2024, known as Juneteenth, Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Black Independence Day.
In 1863, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared more than three million enslaved people living in the Confederate states to be free. More than two years would pass, however, before the news reached African Americans living in Texas. It was not until Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, that the state’s residents finally learned that slavery had been abolished. The formerly enslaved immediately began to celebrate with prayer, feasting, song, and dance.
